Anthropomorphism
Anthropomorphism is equivalent to giving humanized appearance to objects that are not human directly. Nonhuman objects can be animals, plants, inert beings or whatever (including abstract entities and concepts). Some examples:
-
Anthropomorphism in ancient Egyptian art.
-
Anthropomorphism in medieval Japanese art.
-
Anthropomorphism in Disney.
Special cases
Furry
Hybridization with animals:
-
Hybridization with a cat.
-
Hybridization with a fox.
-
A brony inevitably is also within the furry category.
Pareidolia
See human faces where there really are not:
-
That Jamaican broom must be angry.
-
Why are those peppers scared?
-
A skull? Nothing of that! Here are a couple of people with several drinks on the table.
Gijinka (or moe anthropomorphism)
Instead of following the actual human form, the human form of the manga/anime style (mostly moe style) is followed. In the vast majority of cases, they are usually women (between adults and girls/lolis), forcedly and with a very human physical appearance (they try to make "what they want to represent" to be shown as if it were clothes).
-
For pokémon.
-
Of a dragon.
Relation with the GTS community
There are times when non-human objects interact with women, giving rise (in most cases) to pseudo-giantesses:
-
Sausage Party: A controversial film within the GTS community due to forced anthropomorphism of meals (among others). This scene is considered vore and is remembered with the phrase: She is eating the children!
-
Dexter's Laboratory - SE2-EP02a: Dexter exchanges body with a mouse, so this mouse has been anthropomorphized (psychologically), which made a controversy within the GTS community, creating a debate if it is that this can be considered pseudo-GTS or not.
