Miraculous: Tales of Ladybug & Cat Noir is a (mainly) French CGI series created by French studios Zagtoon and Method Animation in collaboration with De Agostini Editore S.p.A.

Synopsis

In modern-day Paris, teenagers Marinette Dupain-Cheng and Adrien Agreste transform into superheroes when evil arises. Marinette transforms into her superhero persona, Ladybug, while Adrien transforms into his superhero persona, Cat Noir, using magical jeweled objects known as the Miraculous. Not knowing each others' true identities, the two work together to protect Paris from the mysterious villain, Hawk Moth, who covets and attempts to steal their powers by using his akuma, butterflies infused with negative energy, to transform Paris' everyday citizens into supervillains through a negative emotion that they have recently felt or are feeling.

The first season ends with Marinette meeting Master Fu, the Guardian of the Miraculous, the man who gave Marinette and Adrien their Miraculous. The second season opens with Hawk Moth's identity being revealed as none other than Adrien's father Gabriel Agreste. This season also sees Marinette under Fu's tutelage, learning about the Miraculous. Circumstance requires Marinette to loan various Miraculous to friends and allies to fight some supervillains for temporary purposes. These allied heroes are called back at the season's end when Hawk Moth manages to traumatize over two dozen civilians. The heroes are victorious, but Hawk Moth manages to escape with the aid of the Peacock Miraculous holder Mayura who turns out to be Gabriel's assistant Nathalie. Later on, Marinette and Adrien also shares an intimate moment at the park.

Hawk Moth continues his campaign in season three aided by Mayura and her Sentimonsters, creatures created from charged feathers called amoks. Marinette calls upon even more allies to become Miraculous heroes while her nemesis Lila allies herself with both Gabriel and Hawk Moth, unaware of that the two are the same person. Two plot arcs include Nathalie's failing health from using the damaged Peacock Miraculous and Ladybug's refusal to give the Bee Miraculous to Chloe, leading her to betray Ladybug and side with Hawk Moth. By the end of the season, Gabriel gets the information he needed from Fu to repair the Peacock Miraculous while Fu's guardian status is passed to Marinette.

Chloé's butler, Jean, has her host a party for everyone and encouraging her to what her old teddy bear would do. Confident, Hawk Moth sends an akuma beforehand. During the party, Chloé tries her best, but when seeing Adrien dancing with Marinette, Chloé loses her temper and Jean accidentally reveals her teddy bear to everyone, leading Chloé to embarrassment and fires him in the kitchen. Feeling vengeful, Jean is then targeted by the akuma, and turns into "Despair Bear", a doll-sized villain who has the ability to manipulate anyone he touches inside a small teddy bear in which he controls.
The science teacher of the protagonists is obsessed with showing evidence of the existence of "kwamis" (fairy-like beings) to the world, but she fails. Later, she acquires superpowers that allow her to steal kwamis from superheroes. Marinette loses her kwami, so she uses others that she had "reserved" (each with different powers and abilities). Among these powers, there is the ability to multiply and another that allows her to change size, which are used together to generate tiny versions of Marinette that interact with a relatively larger Marinette (maximum: normal size). Marinette (para-giantess).
Ladybug must save her friend and enemy after Kagami's mother gets akumatized into Ikari Gozen (a mecha similar to EVA-01 from Neon Genesis Evangelion) and looks to punish Kagami for disobeying her. Ikari Gozen (metamorphosed into mecha).
