Original character
An OC ("Original Character") is a socially unofficial character (that is, not everyone agrees that it is protected by copyright, in addition to being probably little known or only known within a limited group of people). The term refers specifically to an original character of an artist or fan of a community.
The term OC is often used in English-speaking communities of art (especially in deviantART), but is also used by Hispanics and other Westerners.
